PUTRAJAYA: The absence of PKR chief Datuk Anwar Ibrahim at a Pakatan Harapan top leadership press conference raised questions but this was attributed to a clash in the timetable. PKR strategic communications director Fahmi Fadzil downplayed the absence of its president and MPs during a press conference led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday. He said that many of their MPs and Anwar himself had prior engagements, adding that the press conference yesterday was called at the last minute. “Anwar was scheduled to have an interview with The New York Times yesterday, hence his absence from the press conference. “This (press conference) wasn’t planned ahead of time, so, many PKR MPs already made plans to return to their respective constituencies to help with Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations and Covid-19 assistance,” said Fahmi when contacted.
