The disputed Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahya has removed organising secretary Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya from his post effective immediately. This came after Suhaimi (above) had sent termination letters to five Bersatu leaders including party chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad. In the termination letter sent by Marzuki and sighted by Malaysiakini, Marzuki said Suhaimi has gone against party work ethics and the Bersatu constitution by “making decisions relating the party administration and issuing membership terminations letters without my knowledge or consulting me beforehand as the chief administrator of the Bersatu headquarters and the rightful secretary-general.” Marzuki cited Clause 8.11 of the party constitution that stipulated the secretary-general was responsible for all matters relating to the party’s membership roll.
