Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen has expressed his gratitude to Kuching Bomba for its rapid response to a fire at his house in Jalan Nyiur in Kuching yesterday afternoon. "A big thank you to the Kuching Bomba for their quick response," said Chong, who is former deputy minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, on Facebook. "Our 20-year old family house caught fire. It started in my parents’ bedroom in the late afternoon. I called Bomba, and they were there in about 5 minutes. Had it not for their quick response, the fire would have spread to other rooms," he added.
