Local airline company Malindo Air is offering its employees a voluntary separation scheme (VSS) after claiming that it failed to secure any loan or guarantee from the government to retain its operation. A source told Malaysiakini that the VSS offer was made on May 29, through a company's memorandum to all of its employees. Malindo Air has about 5,000 employees. "Those who would like to volunteer can apply for it (the VSS) from June 1 to June 15 through their respective department head or the human resources department," the source said.
