The Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple at Lorong Ipoh in George Town, Penang, will reopen to the public, from tomorrow. Its vice-chairperson, S Devaraj told Bernama that the application to re-open the temple had been submitted to the Malaysia Hindu Sangam and was approved under strict compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs). He said the SOPs included requiring devotees to wear a face mask, scan their body temperature and write down their contact details before entering the temple. "From now on, our temple will only open on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6pm to 9pm," Devaraj added. He said children aged 12 and below, as well as the elderly aged 70 and above, are prohibited from entering the temple.
