The Temporary Measures Bill to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 will be tabled in the current session of Parliament to protect consumers in credit sales transactions, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi. It involves amendments to the Consumer Protection Act 1999 which is expected to help reduce the burden of the customers’ monthly instalment payment as well as provide flexibility to those who face difficulties in the post-Covid-19 period, he said.
