Former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman spent about 11 hours with MACC investigators today to give his statement regarding the RM250,000 that was allegedly missing from a safe his house. Lawyer Rafique Rashid Ali said the Muar MP left the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at about 9pm. "YB Syed Saddiq is out of SPRM. (He was questioned) from 10am. "He has given full cooperation (to investigators)," Rafique said in a text message. Earlier, it was rumoured that Syed Saddiq was arrested by the MACC when he went to facilitate the anti-graft agency's investigation into his case.

However, the MACC denied that they arrested the Bersatu MP who is loyal to Dr Mahathir Mohamad. MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed this with Malaysiakini when queried on whether Syed Saddiq was officially arrested.
