COVID-19 | The government has lowered the retail price of three-ply surgical face masks to RM1 per piece following its move this month to mandate the wearing of masks in certain public places.  The maximum wholesale price has also been lowered to RM0.95 per unit. In a government gazette dated Aug 11, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said the new ceiling prices will come into effect this Saturday (Aug 15).  The order was made under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. The present retail ceiling price for face masks is RM1.50 per unit while the maximum wholesale price is RM1.45 per mask.
