A riot at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya in 2018 which led to the death of a fireman.PETALING JAYA: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has described as “a waste of time” a proposed fresh inquest into the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim in 2018. He said it would delay the delivery of justice and negate the decision of the Shah Alam coroner’s court. He added that the offenders should be charged with murder and not with rioting. “The offence was serious as it was committed against a civil servant who was just carrying out his duty,” Zahid said in a statement today. Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim died after he was assaulted during the riot.He said a new inquest would delay the justice that Adib and his family deserved.
