COVID-19 | Unlike face masks, there has yet to be clinical proof that face shields are effective against the spread of Covid-19, said Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today. However, he opined that using a face shield was better than not having any face covering at all. “We are looking into the use of face shields, whether face shields can be used. We don’t have any clinical proof yet that they can prevent the virus, but (it’s good) to at least use a face shield. “For face masks, we have proof that says they can break the chain of infection by around 60 to 65 percent.
