Cycling enthusiasts say they have seen a surge in the number of people taking up the hobby since the Covid-19 pandemic which limited recreational activities options but acknowledged that many of the newcomers do not know the rules well and are riding on highways.This is amid a reminder issued by the police on Facebook that cycling on highways is illegal under Section 70(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
