JOHOR BARU: The government should look at ways to reopen the border with Singapore in view of the rising number of job opportunities available there for Malaysians, says Malaysian-Singapore Workers (Pemas) Task Force president Dayalan Sreebalan (pic).He said he had been getting positive feedback about the increased job vacancies in the republic. “The Malaysian government should immediately address the teething problems with regard to the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA),” he said.Under RGL, 400 Malaysians and Singaporeans are allowed to travel between the two countries every week on official business. As for PCA, a total of 2,000 residents from both countries with long-term work permits are permitted to cross the Causeway and Second Link daily.But they have to remain in the destination country for at least 90 days before returning home.Travell…
