A total of 26 Perak assemblypersons have signed a statutory declaration (SD) to support Perak Umno liaison chief Saarani Mohamad as the new menteri besar.Sinar Harian quoted a source as saying that the support came from all 25 Umno assemblypersons and one from Bersatu.The report said that the number grew from an initial 15 Umno assemblypersons declaring their support through the SD.A simple majority to form the state government requires 30 seats.Following the ouster of Bersatu's menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and his state administration, PAS said it would not be involved in efforts to form a new Perak government."If we get another four Bersatu assemblypersons including (former MB) Faizal to support (Saarani), it will be enough just for Umno and Bersatu to form the state government."However, the Perak Sultan surely wants to see a stable government.
