The government today decided to impose the enhanced movement control order (MCO) on Westlite Workers’ Hostel, which is a centralised accommodation facility for foreign workers that serves industrial companies, in Tampoi Jaya, Johor Baru.According to Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the decision came as the Health Ministry recorded a spike in the number of positive Covid-19 cases between Dec 21 and Dec 23."From three days of screening activities there, the Health Ministry found 115 out of 3,116 residents of the hostel were positive of Covid-19. All hostel residents are foreign workers."Based on the advice and risk assessment by the Health Ministry, the government has agreed to impose an enhanced MCO on the Westlite Workers’ Hostel, Taman Perindustrian Tampoi Jaya, Johor Baru beginning Dec 26, 2020 until Jan 8, 2021," said the minister in a statement today.Is…
