A preacher known as 'Ustaz Budak' has once again claimed trial to three counts of sexual crime charges at a Magistrate's Court in Machang and a Sessions Court in Kota Bharu today.At the magistrate's court, Syamsul Zaman Sukri, 32 (above, in a pink T-shirt), who runs a madrasah (religious school) was charged under Section 377D of Penal Code for committing an act of gross indecency on a 22-year-old former male student at a house in Kampung Awah, Machang, in May 2018.He is accused of holding and rubbing the private parts of the victim. If found guilty, the preacher is liable to two years' imprisonment.The prosecution was handled by deputy public prosecutor Hajarul Falenna Abu Bakar before magistrate Amal Razim Alias while the accused was represented by Shaharuddin Mohamed.
