PETALING JAYA: Malaysia was well on its way to achieving the goals of Vision 2020 but poor execution of the plans that had been drawn up led to failure, according to Dr Mahathir Mohamad.In an interview with FMT, the former prime minister said the country was on track to achieving the goals he had set when he stepped down as prime minister in 2003.But those who took over from him deviated from the plans he had laid out and took the mission off track, he added.“When we launched it in 1991,” he said. “We were growing at a very high rate, and it seemed that the policies were good.
