The government has converted a school dorm in Kelantan into a new Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre (PKPC) which will be dedicated to taking in students infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new PKPC, the fifth in Kelantan, began operating yesterday evening.He added that the PKKC was utilising the male and female dorms of SMK Salor, Kota Bharu."The Salor PKPC will only take in students infected with Covid-19."The starting capacity is 168 beds - 84 males and 84 females. The maximum capacity is 350 and will be set up in phases," Noor Hisham said in a Facebook post.PKPCs are intended to treat low-risk Covid-19 patients who do not show serious symptoms that would require treatment at a hospital.
