PKR's national congress - which was previously barred at the eleventh hour by the National Security Council (NSC) - will now be held on June 20.In a statement today, congress director Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said a decision to convene the party's annual general meetings (AGM) was made following a statement by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on June 9.The ROS said any AGM by registered societies must be postponed during the movement control order (MCO) period, unless it is held online.The initial slated date of the congress on June 5 was already set to be conducted entirely online. However, the NSC and ROS issued orders for its cancellation, despite the ROS stating in writing on May 27 that they had no objections to holding the meeting virtually. Nik Nazmi said that the meeting on June 20 will start at 8am and end at 2pm.
