PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) is urging the government to allow the automotive sector to resume operations with immediate effect, as prolonged business and supply chain disruption under the present lockdown will have dire consequences on the industry.MAA president Datuk Aishah Ahmad (pic below) said the entire supply chain in the automotive sector had been seriously affected, particularly by the complete shutdown of operations in the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) states and localities such as Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

“Feedback received from many of our members indicated that business operations even in non-EMCO states are hampered due to disruptions in the supply chain, ” she said in a statement yesterday.
