The High Court in Kota Bharu yesterday ordered former Amanah vice-president Husam Musa to pay compensation of RM100,000 to Kompleks Perkayuan Kelantan Sdn Bhd (KPK) for defamation. The court also ordered Husam to pay RM110,933.92 in costs for the judgment recorded against him on Oct 1, 2019.KPK’s counsel Wan Muhamad Hafiz Wan Zawawi said the judgment is the decision from the defamation suit filed by the company against the statements published and spread by Husam (above) through Facebook and his ceramah sessions.“Judge Mohamad Abazafree Mohd Abbas described the statement as having damaged the reputation and image of KPK and negatively impacted the good name of their business,” the lawyer said in a statement yesterday.In 2017, Husam, who was a senator at the time, accused KPK of violating Orang Asli’s rights by trespassing on their land in Gua Musang.Husam also claimed that KPK…
