- NSTP file pic KOTA BARU: Police yesterday detained seven youths suspected to have gang raped a 13-year-old girl early this year.Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Khairuddin Wan Idris said the seven, aged between 15 and 18, were detained separately in the district yesterday.He said the arrests were made following a report lodged on Aug 15."Police were informed about the incident by a doctor who treated the victim. She was brought to the hospital due to trauma inflicted by the incident," he said.Wan Khairuddin said police had yet to record a statement from the victim. He added that the seven had been remanded for five days beginning today to assist investigations into the case."The remand order which ends on Aug 23, was obtained from the Kota Baru court this morning.
