Youth and Sports Minister Ahmad Faizal Azumu has pledged to return the salary he received during his short stint as a special advisor to former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin. He said the money will go to the Covid-19 fund. “I want to return all RM27,000 to the Covid-19 fund,” he was reported as saying by Utusan. The former Perak menteri besar said he was not angry nor did he hold it against those who had questioned his salary as the special advisor.On the contrary, Faizal said he welcomed the issue being raised in Parliament recently for the sake of transparency in the salaries of government members. However, the Bersatu deputy president expressed disappointment that he was not given the opportunity to explain beforehand that he already had the intention to contribute the money to the Covid-19 fund.
