The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Dosh) is investigating the death of a Nepali worker from rubber glove manufacturer Top Glove.
“We have begun investigations and a media statement will be issued as soon as preliminary investigations have been carried out,” Selangor Dosh director Dr Khairul Baharin Mohd Baharuddin said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
He also said Top Glove has not reported three alleged worker deaths to the department, including the Nepali worker's death on Sunday (Oct 3).Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that the deceased worker — who worked at one of Top Glove’s factories in Klang, Selangor — allegedly died during his shift, as claimed by migrant workers rights specialist Andy Hall.This is the third death to occur within the span of three months.
