Aug 18, 2023Denmark and the Netherlands have received the green light from Washington to send US-made F-16 jet fighters to Ukraine .Kiev may expect the delivery of the jets  as soon as its pilots completed their training to use the aircraft in the ongoing war against Russia.US officials on Thursday indicated that approval of all necessary third-party transfer requests of F-16s to Ukraine will be expedited.State secretary Antony Blinken reportedly sent letters to his Danish and Dutch counterparts to express the US’ full support for the transfer of F-16 fighter aircraft to Ukraine and for the training of its pilots.He has stressed that it was critical for Ukraine to be able to defend itself against Russia.Ukraine’s ongoing counter offensive against Russian forces, which started two months ago has bogged down partly due to its lack of airpower.
