KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 15, 2023: Former KL City Hall senior deputy director Sabudin Mohd. Salleh has been sentenced to four years’ jail and fined RM1 million by the High Court today on two charges of obtaining bribes of RM200,000 for issuing work permits to a sub-contractor.Judge K. Muniandy ordered the sentence for each count to run concurrently effective today.In September last year a sessions court freed Sabudin, 62, of the charges. He is also appealling today’s decision.Sabudin was charged with obtaining the bribes from one Wong May Kuan, a sub-contractor for Dusari Niaga which was carrying out road resurfacing in the city from 2018 to 2020.
