KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 11, 2023: Opposition leader and former minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has sent a letter of demand to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the government for linking him to a corruption case involving RM15 million.His letter asks the MACC to immediately cease and desist in acting in a partisan political manner.It was issued via legal firm Chetan Jethwani and addressed to the MACC, its chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki and the government via the Attorney-General’s Chambers.Hamzah also pointed out in the letter that civil servants are sworn protectors of the constitutional rights of the people and are not supposed to violate them.The letter further states that if the MACC persists in violating the sworn constitution duties and obligations, legal proceedings would commence to claim compensation and protect and vindicate his reputation.At a press…
