PUTRAJAYA, Aug 24, 2023: The Pelangai state by-election in Pahang will be held.on Oct 7.Election Commission (EC)chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh, who made the announcement today said the nomination day of the by-election will be on Sept 23 and early voting on Oct 3.Campaigning for the by-election will run for 14 days.Speaking to the media after chairing a special meeting on the by-election here, Ghani said the polls would costs RM2.1 million.He said the May 2023 Supplementary Electoral Roll, which was updated as of Aug 17 this year, will be used for the by-election and that they will be sold starting Sept 18.Pelangai, which is one of the four state seats under the Bentong parliamentary constituency, has 16,456 eligible registered voters.The Pelangai seat became vacant after its assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun was killed in the Elmina plane crash on Aug 17.Johari was als…
