KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 10, 2023: Businessman Tan Sri Vincent Tan has filed a defamation suit against Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Sanusi Md. Nor in relation to remarks about the Selangor Maritime Gate project.In the suit filed on Tuesday, Tan is seeking general, compensatory, aggravated, and exemplary damages.Among others, Tan and Berjaya Land allege that Sanusi’s remarks had caused unnecessary anxiety and concern for him and his family, who must now live with the baseless stigma attached to these allegations.They said they had also issued a letter of demand to Sanusi earlier this week, demanding that he apologise, which he refused.The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in general, and aggravated and exemplary damages, from Sanusi.
