The Foreign Ministry, in collaboration with the Malaysian High Commission in India, will continue to coordinate efforts to bring home tabligh members still stranded there, said its minister Hishammuddin Hussein. In a statement today, he said the government would make an announcement on the mission to bring them home. “Out of the 96 Malaysians who arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today, 62 were among the tabligh members who were stranded in India since March,” he said. Hishammuddin said the 62 tabligh members had been arrested by the Indian authorities for allegedly misusing their social visit visa to conduct religious activities. “However, most of them had undergone the legal process and were freed of the charges,” he added.
