The Selangor government has been urged to dip into the state's RM2.56 billion reserves to alleviate the people’s hardship under the Covid 19 pandemic.In a statement yesterday, MCA central committee member Lau Chin Kok proposed that the state government fork out RM1,000 in cash assistance to each hawker.He also wants a monthly cash aid of RM300 to be provided to every unemployed individual in Selangor for a period of three months."An interest-free loan programme totalling RM500 million for SMEs (small and medium enterprises) in Selangor should be set up," Lau said, in addition to a 50 percent wage subsidy to SMEs for three months.He also called for special financial assistance to be given to the entertainment and tourism sectors.Lau said the Pakatan Harapan-led Selangor government should assist businesses hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic as some of them are not a…
